Imagine that it’s night and you’re walking out to your car. Maybe you’ve been working late, maybe you’re headed home from a party; either way, you’re alone.
When do you take out your keys?
My male friends reliably blink and cock their heads. They don’t understand the question.
“Um… when I get to my car?”
My female friends all instantaneously say “I’ve had them out since before I left the building.”
